A Redondo Beach man arrested last week in connection with a hoax bomb that caused chaos in Miami has been taken to a hospital for psychiatric evaluation. A beach man from Redondo is facing charges over a "fake bomb explosion" that paralysed part of Miami International Airport.
The scare was sparked when Raja checked into the Marriott Hotel in Miami after leaving his luggage. He drove from Miami International Airport to the hotel and then to a friend's nearby apartment, where he got into an argument with a woman. A colleague told her he was upset about a staffing problem and told him to leave.
As a result, the hotel, one of the largest hotels in the US and the largest hotel chain in the country, was forced to resent and lay off employees.
On July 13, Las Vegas-based Boyd Gaming, which owns and operates 29 casino properties in 10 states, including many hotels, announced it would lay off its employees.
