Harbor Breeze Cruises: book your adventure today

Jan 23, 2010

Founded by Dan Salas in 1990, Harbor Breeze Cruises has been providing public Whale Watching, Worldport, and charter cruises in the Long Beach and the surrounding areas for more than 20 years. While working at the San Pedro docks at the early age of 12, Salas fondness of the sea grew stronger as he grew older and he pursued a career as a tug boat captain. After 10 years of working as a tug boat captain he was ready to set out on his own. Today Harbor Breeze Cruises offers more whale watching tours then any other company in the area.

The Whale Watching cruises include informative commentary, provided by an experienced staff and a biologist from the Aquarium of the Pacific. Also, in observing the Whales in their passage along the California Coast, guests frequently spot dolphins darting back and forth, playing with the boat, and jumping in and out of the water.

During the Gray Whale season from December through mid-May, experienced staff will offer information about the characteristics of the Pacific Gray Whale and its annual migration from the Bering Sea in Alaska to the Scammon's Lagoon in Baja California, Mexico. Then, during the Blue Whale season from June through December you can expect to be educated on the Blue Whale’s migration patterns, characteristics, and other interesting facts.

On ship, there are many lounge areas where you can enjoy a snack or drink provided by the galley service. The ships accommodations also include lavatories, and expansive deck areas for viewing and photography.

Harbor Breeze Cruises is located in Rainbow Harbor. Rainbow Harbor provides easy access to great restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. There is something for the entire family to enjoy. Rainbow Harbor neighbors the Pike and Shoreline Village. Shoreline Village also offers great dining and entertainment. Kids of all ages can experience the magic of Shoreline Village’s carousel or practice their hoop skills in the arcade. In the summer months, families can relax to the sounds of free seaside concerts on the Village’s Off-Boardwalk stage.
